Election on Punjab's vacant Senate seat to be held today

The seat was vacated by Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on assuming charge of Governor Punjab.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Election on vacant Senate seat from Punjab will be held today (Wednesday), Dunya News reported. Polling will start at 9:00am and will continue till 4:00pm.

At least 358 members of Punjab Assembly will exercise their right to vote. Punjab Assembly has been declared polling station while provincial election commissioner will act as presiding officer.

A close contest is expected between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Shahzad Waseem and Khawaja Hassan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The seat was vacated by PTI s Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on assuming charge of Governor Punjab.
