Flagship reference: NAB requests to issue arrest warrants of Nawaz over his non-appearance
Judge warned of issuing arrest warrants of ex-PM if he continues to skip the hearing.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday has requested the accountability court to issue non-bailable arrest warrants of ex-prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif over his non-appearance in Flagship Investments reference.
During the hearing, Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Harris also failed to appear due to illness over which, NAB judge said it’s intolerable that the accused attend hearings as per his will.
NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar said that Nawaz Sharif has also not filed any exemption plea. He also asked court to record statements of the witnesses in the presence of assistant lawyer.
Meanwhile, the judge warned of issuing arrest warrants of ex-premier if he continues to skip hearing of the reference.
