Faisal Raza Abidi booked over derogatory remarks against CJP

Former senator had already been summoned by over anti-judiciary remarks against a TV channel.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - First information report (FIR) on Friday has been registered in Secretariat Police station Islamabad against former senator Faisal Raza Abidi for using inappropriate words against the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).

FIR was registered by the SC s spokesperson Shahid Hussain in Secretariat Police stations under Pakistan Penal Code s sections 228, 500, 505(ii) and 34 along with Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

Earlier, the former senator had already been summoned by SC for his anti-judiciary remarks on private TV channel.

However, during an interview on a private TV channel, criticizing chief Justice for initiating dam fund scheme, MR Abidi used offensive, insolent and defamatory language against the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar without any legitimate justification.

Further information revealed that investigation will also be launched against anchor of the program.
