Summary The polio campaign has been cancelled in Lahore due to the doctors strike.
At least 40 patients have died so far in the government hospitals in Punjab as the doctors refused to attend them.The family members of the victims demanded that cases should be registered against the doctors for committing negligence of their duties. The government is yet to arrange the substitutes of the protesting doctors. Young Doctors Association President Hamid Butt said that the doctors could call off their strike, if the government announces a raise in their salaries.
