Cabinet approves finance amendment draft bill

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the federal cabinet in Parliament House, Islamabad.
According to details, the premier was briefed over finance amendment draft bill, reforms in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and change in tax slab.
Finance Minister Asad Umar briefed the participants about the bill following which the cabinet gave its approva. The bill will now be presented in National Assembly.
The cabinet was also informed regarding increase in duty on imported items.
In the previous meeting, federal ministers and senior government officials discussed the agenda related to finance, taxes and other important areas.
A nine-point agenda was discussed which also included the abolition of the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD).
The cabinet approved the transfer of health affairs services to Ministry of Health from Islamabad administration.
Federal cabinet gave approval of appointment of Sharif Haroon as Chairman Investment Board. The cabinet also approved amendment in Navy Act, 1961 and Income Tax Amendment Ordinance.
The federal cabinet also reviewed draft of amendment in Finance Bill during today’s meeting.
On the other hand, the prices of around 5000 products are expected to increase as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government will present mini budget today.
