Nankana Sahib: Shopkeeper, passers-by, four dacoits killed in robbery bid

Two police officials were also wounded in exchange of fire with dacoits in Nankana Sahib.

NANKANA SAHIB (Dunya News) – A shopkeeper, a passers-by and four dacoits were killed in a robbery attempt in Syedwala area of Nankana Sahib on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, six to seven dacoits entered a jewelry shop in Syedwala area of Nankana to commit a robbery during which jeweler Zafran Zafarullah offered resistance upon which dacoits opened fire and wounded him. Zafran was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police reached the spot after getting information and chased the dacoits upon which the robbers opened fire on the police party. A passers-by was killed in firing by the dacoits. Four dacoits were also killed in exchange of fire with police while two others managed to escape.

Police sources said that two of the killed dacoits were identified as Qasim alias Kashi and Imran. Sources further informed that Qasim was resident of Faisalabad and wanted by police in 17 cases while seven cases were registered against Imran in different police stations.

DPO Nankana Sahib informed media that two police officials were also wounded in exchange of fire with dacoits.
