Punjab's 15 ministers would take oath in the next two or three days

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and discussed matters pertaining to formation of provincial cabinet.

During the meeting, the prime minister and the Punjab CM agreed to keep the provincial cabinet short.

Sources told Dunya News that 15 ministers of Punjab would take oath in the next two or three days.

Abdul Aleem Khan is being considered for the position of Minister for Local Government and Community Development, Dr Yasmin Rashid is a strong candidate for the post of Health Minister, while Sibtain Khan is likely to be given Agriculture portfolio.

Mahmoodur Rasheed is being considered Punjab’s next Minister of Housing and Communication and Works Department, while Raja Yasir is under consideration for the position of Punjab Minister of Higher Education.

Raja Basharat is being measured for teh post of Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs. 


Planning and Development Meeting


After presiding over a meeting of the Planning and Development Department in which he was apprised about the development project and development budget, Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar said that we as a team will serve the people of the province.

He said that all decisions will be taken after consultation, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s agenda is to only serve the public and we all will have to complete this mission.

Buzdar went on to say that changes are made whenever new government comes but said the PTI-led Punjab government wont make any changes. He also assured his full support to the officials.

He said: “I will make the CM office in Civil Secretariate fully functional and I will visit departement like I came to the Planning and Development Department.

The Punjab CM said that we all will have to raise the living standard of province’s poor people and develop the South Punjab in letter and spirit according to the vision of PM Imran Khan.

Previously, on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to bring revolutionary changes in the province with focus on changing police culture.

The prime minister said that people of Punjab have given mandate to PTI and the new government should come up to their expectations.

Imran Khan emphasized the need of simplicity and said that austerity should be included in the priorities of the new government.
