ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Friday issued contempt of court notice to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Dr Amir Liaquat for non-compliance with the court’s order of not using hate speech.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar conducted hearing over a petition filed by a pivate channel against Liaquat.

The petitioner adopted stance that the apex court had directed the PTI member on March 6, 2017 against using hate speech against any individual.

“No one has the right to declare the other as traitor or non-believer,” the plea added.

“This drama will not run in the court. Everyone has to talk here with respect. I am issuing you a notice for telling lie. Those who do not have control on their tongue should not be allowed in parliament. What sort of language is used to increase the rating of programme. We want peace in this country. You started a movement against the same media group where you were a former employee,” resented the CJP.

SC while sissuing Liaquat the contempt notice sought reply from him in two weeks.
