Green and White clothes gain prominence ahead of Independence Day

Clothing with reference to 14th August have taken the market by storm.

(WebDesk) – With Independence Day fast approaching, people have made their way to various markets and stalls to shop for themselves as well as their loved ones. Apart from flags, badges, posters, hats and wigs, specially designed clothes have managed to attract the masses largely. Women and children alike are really excited to see attractive clothes, all cover in the national colors of Green and White.

Whether its in local stores or malls, the streets of Karachi are filled with green and white. Contrary to popular belief however, this time clothing with reference to 14th August have taken the market by storm. Sales have gone up dramatically ever since the introduction of “patriotic clothes”.

T-shirts displaying various slogans like “Jashan e Azaadi” and “Pakistan Zindabad” have become insanely popular. For the ladies however, white shirts with green embroidery and green Kurtis with a touch of white have gained popularity as well.

 The shopkeepers are very satisfied with the way their sales have gone up. “We try our best to keep the customers satisfied by introducing the latest designs in the market. So far, the results are really good with respect to sales”, said one shopkeeper whilst talking to Dunya News.

The people of Karachi, however, say that although the quality and type of clothes available in stores nowadays is really good, the prices should be lowered significantly so that such clothes are in within the reach of everyone and not just a certain class.

“We are living in a ‘Naya Pakistan’ now so the clothes should also be less expensive” , said one shopper. Another lady, whilst talking to Dunya News said: “The prices should be normalised in accordance to the variety of the clothes.”

Whether the shopkeepers decide to lower the prices remains to be seen, but Pakistan is all set to greener and whiter come 14th August.
