Pakistan General Election Results 2018 LIVE updates: PTI leads, PML-N cries foul

Official results of election 2018 will be announced accordingly.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Early results of the landmark 2018 general election showed the victory of cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), while the mainstream political parties denounced "blatant rigging" in the pivotal general election and rejecting unofficial, partial results.

Results were still being tallied on Friday, a day after Khan’s supporters took to the streets to celebrate victory with nearly half the votes counted, PTI, is in a commanding lead.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Shehbaz said that he had not seen such “horrible situation” in his entire political career.

He went on to say that rigging had inflicted massive blow to Pakistan’s democratic system and stated that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had utterly failed in carrying out transparent elections.

"PML-N’s polling agent was pushed out of the polling station in DG Khan whereas situation of the incident is available. Today’s incidents have pushed Pakistan 30 years back," he said.

Later, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman while talking to media said that he will host an All Parties’ Conference to discuss alleged rigging in elections.

Fazl said his party rejects election results, saying he has discussed the situation with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif.

On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) dismissed allegations of manipulation, blaming the delay on glitches in new, untested counting software.

"These elections were 100 percent fair and transparent," said Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza early Thursday as the outcry grew.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan has summoned his party leaders for consultations at his residence in Bani Gala.

He is expected to ask his party leaders to contact independent candidates from across the Punjab and enlist their support. The meeting will formulate a strategy to counter opponent s allegation that the elections were rigged.

On Wednesday, millions of Pakistanis voted to elect a new government and prime minister in a peaceful elections held in free, fair and transparent manner.

Around 800,000 police and military forces were stationed at more than 85,000 polling stations across the country as the voting took place.

Wednesday s election was only the second democratic transition of power in Pakistan s 70-year coup-studded history.

Pakistan is a country of approximately 207 million people, out of which the number of registered voters are about 106 million. The voting for the Pakistan election, which took place between 8:00 am local time (8:30 am IST) and 6:00 pm (6:30 pm IST)

The three key parties contesting were former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and former (late) prime minister Benazir Bhutto s party Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), which is being headed by her son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

To form a majority government outright, the PTI would need to snatch 137 seats.

 National and provincial assemblies seats


Of the 272 seats of National Assembly, election held on 270 seats. Polls on two National Assembly constituencies have been postponed.

As regards the four provincial assemblies, election were conducted on 570 seats against the total tally of 577.

Over 12,500 candidates were in the run for the seats of National and provincial assemblies. According to the electoral rolls, 105.96 million voters were eligible to cast the vote. Of these, 59.22 million were male and 46.73 million are females.

As per ECP record, 59.22 percent of the registered voters in Pakistan are males while only 46.73pc are females.


Number of polling stations


The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had set up 85,307 polling stations across the country. Around 20,000 polling stations were declared sensitive and CCTV cameras were installed inside and outside all the sensitive polling stations.

NA-243 Karachi

PTI Chairman Imran Khan is leading the count against MQM-P’s Syed Ali Raza with 1,552 votes.

NA-81 Gujranwala

PML-N’s Khurram Dastagir is leading the count against PTI’s Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique with 15,055 votes.

NA-124 Lahore 

PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz is leading the count against PTI’s Muhammad Nouman Qaiser with 9,545 votes.

NA-8 Malakand

PTI’s Junaid Akbar is leading the count against PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto with 97 votes.

NA-154 Multan

Independent candidate Sikander Hayat Khan Bosan is leading the count against PPP’s Syed Abdul Qadir Geelani with 3,910 votes.

NA-156 Multan 

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi is leading the count against PML-N’s Amir Saeed Ansari with 3,822 votes.

PPP s Khursheed Shah leads with 627 votes NA-206 SUKKUR-1, followed by PTI s Tahir Hussain with 40 votes.

NA-208 Khairpur-1

PPP s Nafisa Shah leads with 438 votes. GDA s Ghaus Ali Shah follows Shah with 67 votes.

Independent candidate, Abbas Abbasi is leading the count against PTI’s Makhdoom Syed Samiul Hassan Geelani with 213 votes.

According to unofficial results, PTI’s Pervaiz Khattak is the leading the count against MMA’s Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah with 310 votes.

NA-53 Islamabad

PTI Chairman Imran Khan is leading the count against PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi with 213 votes.

NA-59 Rawalpindi

PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan is leading the vote count against independent candidate Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan with 81 votes.

NA-95 Mianwali

PTI Chairman Imran Khan is leading the count against PML-N’s Ubaidullah Khan with 1,452 votes.

NA-78 Narowal-2

PML-N s Ahsan Iqbal leads the polls with 313 votes. Iqbal is followed by Abrarul Haq, who has so far secured 103 votes.

PTI s Ghulam Bibi Bhirwana leads polls with 71 votes. Bhirwana is followed by independent candidate Mohammad Ahmed, who has so far secured 50 votes.

PML-N rejects results


Addressing a press conference in Lahore’s Model Town, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif rejected results of General Elections 2018 citing ‘massive rigging’ across country.

The former Punjab CM added that sanctity of vote was tampered and the situation was unacceptable.

“PML-N’s polling agent was pushed out of the polling station in D.G. Khan whereas situation of the incident is available. Today’s incidents have pushed Pakistan 30 years back”, stated Sharif.

According to unofficial results from all polling station , PTI s Pervaiz Khattak wins polls by securing 61,243 votes.

PK-84 Hangu-2

PTI s Muhammad Zahoor has won the polls with 8000 votes, unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations suggested.

PK-28 Battgram-1

PTI s Engineer Zubair Khan has won the polls with 13,500 votes, unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations suggested.

PK-9 Swat-8

PTI s Mahmood Khan has won the polls with 17,251 votes, unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations suggested.

According to unofficial results, PTI chairman Imran Khan is leading the count against PML-N s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and MQM s Ali Raza Abidi.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto is leading the count with 14081votes against MMA’s Rashid Mahmood Somroo with 4397 votes.



PK-11 Upper Dir-2

PPPP Sahibzada Sanaullah has won the polls with 18,672 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. Sahibzada was followed by MMA s Azam Khan, who could secure 10,395 votes.

PK-10 Upper Dir-1

PPPP Malik Badshah Saleh has won the polls with 19,030 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. Badshah was followed by MMA s Muhammad Ali, who could secure 16,001 votes.

Fazl alleges poll rigging

Talking to media, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he will host an All Parties’ Conference to discuss alleged rigging in elections.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI s Samiullah Ch has won the polls with 40,780 votes.  He was followed by PML-N s Rana Muhammad Tariq, who could secure 24,413 votes.

NA-155 Multan-2

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI s Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar has won the polls with 88,567 votes. Dogar was followed by PML-N s Muhammad Tariq Rashid, who could secure 71,456 votes.

PP-293 Rajanpur-3

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI s Sardar Farooq Amanullah Dareshak has won the polls with 57,414 votes. Dareshak was followed by Independent candidate Sardar Pervaiz Iqbal Gorchani, who could secure 38,211 votes.

NA-106 Faisalabad-6

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI s Nisar Jatt has won the polls with 44,437 votes. Nisar Jatt was followed by PML N candidate Rana Sanaullah, who could secure 43,838 votes.

PK-38 Abbottabad-3

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI’s Haji Qalandar Khan Lodhi has won the polls with 31,037 votes. Nisar Jatt was followed by PML’N candidate Muhammad Arshad, who could secure 29,097 votes.

NA-231 Sajawal-1

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PPP’s Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Shirazi has won the polls with 80,725 votes. Ayaz Ali Shah Shirazi was followed by MMA’N candidate Maulvi Muhammad Saleh, who could secure 7,956 votes.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has won the polls with 70,511 votes. Hamza was followed by PTI’N candidate Zaman Naseeb, who could secure 40,185 votes.

PP-151 Lahore-8

PTI’s Mian Aslam Iqbal has won the polls with 70,517 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. Mian Aslam was followed by PML’N Baqir Hussain, who could secure 61,162 votes.

PP-92 Bhakkar-4

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI’s Amir Anayat Shehnai has won the polls with 18,897 votes. Independent candidate Zaheer Ahmad remained second with 14,270 votes.

PP-100 Faisalabad-4

PTI’s Zaheer-ud-Din has won the polls with 37,363 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. Zaheer was followed by PML’N Iffat Miraj Awan, who could secure 18,500 votes.

PK-83 Hangu-1

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, PTI’s Shah Faisal Khan has won the polls with 13,690 votes. MMA’s candidate Ubaid Ullah remained second with 11,050 votes.

PS-27 Khairpur-2

PPPP’s Munawwar Ali Wasan has won the polls with 53,960 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. Independent candidate Zaheer Abbas secured second position with 18,200 votes.

PK-26 Kohistan-1

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations, independent candidate has won the polls with 18,200 votes. Another independent candidate Afsar remained second with 13,700 votes.

NA-161 Lodhran-2

PTI’s Mian Muhammad Shafique has won the polls with 97,456 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all polling stations. PML’N Khan Muhammad Sidiq Khan secured second position with 27,460 votes.

PP-68 Mandi Bahauddin-4
