Summary There are anomalies in the UN Security Council resolution, says Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir.

Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir on Saturday said army action against Libya in the name of human rights and democracy was a dangerous step.Briefing the Standing Committee of the Senate on Foreign Affairs, Bashir said Pakistan had reservations the way the army action had been launched against Libya. There are several anomalies in the UN Security Council resolution which mandated the coalition forces to attack Libya, he said.He told the committee that 10,000 Pakistanis were employed in police and security forces in Bahrain. Five Pakistanis, including three policemen, were killed in the violence, he said.He said that 3,000 Pakistanis were being evacuated from the Shia-majority areas. The committee chairman, Saleem Saifullah, said that it was strange to note that the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, Arab countries, African Union and permanent envoy of Libya to the United Nations supported the resolution against Libya. He said that Pakistan had reservations on the resolution as another country could also fall prey to such a situation.
