Summary Letters have been written to the British home ministry for Musharrafs arrest, court told.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday produced before an anti-terrorism court a special compliance report regarding arrest warrant of former president Pervez Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case.During the hearing of the case in Adiala Jail, FIA counsel Chaudhry Zulfiqar told the court that letters had been written to the British home ministry for the implementation of the arrests warrants issued against Musharraf.He said that though there was not agreement of prisoners’ swap between Pakistan and UK, Musharraf should be arrested and be handed over to Pakistan under Article 4, sub-section 2 of the Extradition Act. He said that the British government had been told that it was an important case and Musharraf’s trial was necessary.Zulfiqar said that Interpol would also be contacted soon to ensure the arrest of Pervez Musharraf.
