ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Capital administration on Tuesday imposed Section-144 in the city few days ahead of the 2018 general elections.

According to the notification, there would be complete ban on any kind of show of weapons and violent activities.

The notification further stated that there would be a complete ban on pasting pamphlets and posters and holding rallies.

Pakistan will hold a general election on July 25 and President Mamnoon Hussain had approved the date, electoral officials.

All 342 members of the country’s National Assembly will face voters, which they last did in 2013. Pakistan’s National Assembly is the lower chamber of its Parliament, which also has a Senate. Senators are chosen by provincial legislators, who’ll also face the country’s more than 100 million voters that day.

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is expected to be the main challenger to the ruling party in the general elections.

Earlier, the ECP announced that a total of 105.95 million voters will use their right of vote to elect the new government.
