(WebDesk) – In an Election plagued with the big wigs and known personalities alike, candidates representing the middle class and lower middle class society often get neglected. Physically challenged candidates are no exception either. Raja Imran, a differently-abled man, is one such common person who vies to defy all odds by running for elections 2018.

Contesting the elections from the area of PP 14 in Rawalpindi, the candidate claims that people with disabilities are often overlooked and not given proper rights in the society. Hence if elected he promises to raise their voice in the country’s power corridors.

Raja Imran, who has chosen a pencil as his election symbol, conducts door-to-door campaigns himself by engaging with, asking for votes from, and helping the locals in day-to-day affairs. Imran’s bravery, vision and determination have made it clear that for Raja Imran disability is secondary and is something that can never come in the way of his dreams.

The Polio-affected candidate claims that his opposition only represent the voice and ideology of those that reside in the more urban and posh neighborhoods whereas he is the true voice of the underprivileged. “The elected candidates only visit the neighborhoods when they need to beg for votes. Otherwise, no one cares to look back at the poor individuals of the society”, he said.

"I will make sure the special persons get their due rights, if elected", says Imran. Photo: Screenshot

Whether Raja Imran can bag enough votes to win a provincial seat seems unlikely but his persistence definitely proves that anything is possible!
