Going Pakistan to surrender and not to run away: Maryam
She says opponents have used all tactics to pressurize
LONDON (Dunya News) – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that they were going to Pakistan to hand themselves in and not to run away.
Talking to media in London on Tuesday, she said that the infighting going on in Pakistan for the last 70 years is nearing its end, adding that their morales won’t shake.
The PML-N leader said that the opponents have used all tactics to pressurize them, adding that the former PM was being kept away from people according to a thinking.
Maryam Nawaz went on to say that the results were totally different of what opponents wanted to get because the people knew what reality is.
Nawaz Sharif’s apparent political heir said that the more the explanations are the more the more people would expose.
The PML-N’s intentions are going t shake, she added.
“Almighty God knows better about our policies,” she said and added we are not going to run away anywhere.
Earlier, the federal government had given the green signal to authorities to shift former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter to prison via helicopter.
NAB Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem had formally requested bureau chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz be shifted to Adiala jail from airport via helicopter immediately upon their arrival.
The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by the interior secretary. The participats also reviewed security arrangements pertaining to Nawaz’s arrival in Lahore.
The interim provincial government has been given the task to ensure foolproof security at the Lahore airport. Immigration authorities will hand over the convicts to NAB men.
The decision to present them before the corruption court will be taken in light of security situation. Authorities have also decided to obtain their judicial remand in prison in case any security issue emerges.
Maryam announces return
Nawaz and his daughter would return to Pakistan on July 13 from London where they are tending to the veteran leader’s wife, Kulsoom, who is being treated for cancer and is in a coma after suffering a heart attack last month.
“We will reach Lahore on July 13,” Maryam told reporters.
