ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday was declared qualified by the appellate tribunal to contest elections from Islamabad’s NA-53 and Bannu’s NA-35 constituencies.

Khan appeared before the tribunal following objections raised over his nomination papers in NA-53. His lawyer Babar Awan accompanied him in the proceedings. Khan filled the empty column-N in the nomination papers.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani asked him about his services as a parliamentarian. In response, Imran Khan listed three services; formation of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Namal College and providing awareness to public regarding constitution and their rights in the papers.

The tribunal rejected all the objections and allowed the PTI chief to contest the elections.

On the other hand, the verdict was announced in his favour in NA-35 over lack of evidence.

Imran has now been cleared from all five constituencies; Lahore’s NA-131, Mianwali’s NA-95, Islamabad’s NA-53, Bannu’s NA-35 and Karachi’s NA-243.
