LAHORE (Dunya News) – A notification issued by Punjab interim set up has slapped ban on local representatives from participating in general elections 2018.
As per details acquired, the notification has been issued to ensure transparent and unbiased elections.
The notification states that participation in election campaign will be violation of code of conduct of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The caretaker set up has warned local representatives of initiation of legal proceedings if any violation is observed.
Furthermore, the caretaker government has also barred district councilors, municipal committee members and UC chairmen from taking part in any political activity or election campaign for general election 2018.
It is pertinent here to mention that general elections 2018 will be held on July-25.
