KARACHI (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday reserved verdict over Naqeebullah encounter case’s suspects former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and DSP Qamar Ahmed Sheikh’s petition seeking provision of B-Class in jail.
The court has also sought arguments over Anwar’s bail plea on next hearing.
Rao Anwar who has remained SSP for more than eight years appeared in the court with full protocol and without any handcuffs.
When the prosecution raised the point, the court remarked that many other politicians including Waseem Akhtar, Dr Asim and Rauf Siddiqui have been appearing before court without handcuffs.
Before the hearing, Rao Anwar came out of the armoured vehicle and went straight to his lawyers instead of the courtroom.
Police officials asked him to visit the court first, but Anwar did not paid any heed.
When the hearing begun, the court reserved the verdict over plea seeking provision of B-Class due to absence of jail rules book.
The judge directed Anwar’s lawyer to submit the rules book and adjourned the proceedings till June 9.
