Funeral prayer of martyred Colonel Sohail Abid offered in Vehari

VEHARI (Dunya News) – Funeral prayer of Army officer Colonel Sohail Abid, who embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire in Killi Almas area in Balochistan province, has been offered in Vehari.

Dozens of security officers, relatives and locals participated in the last rituals of the brave officer and prayed for his forgiveness. The sources told that the body of the officer will be taken to Rawalpindi for burial.

During intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists on late Wednesday, Colonel Sohail Abid of Military Intelligence embraced martyrdom while four other soldiers got injured in an operation that killed notorious Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) militant Salman Badenwanted for more than 100 murders.

Two of the injured soldiers are in critical condition, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.

Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the whole nation is united against coward enemies.

In a statement, PM pledged to not sit silent until the elimination of terrorism from the country. He also paid tribute to Army officer Colonel Sohail Abid who embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire in Killi Almas area in Balochistan.

He said our soldiers have paid the price of freedom with blood and there is no higher sacrifice than it.
