Pakistan braces for scorching heat in first week of Ramazan

(Dunya News) – Pakistanis are ready to brace blistering first week of Ramazan as sweltering heat is expected to persist at scattered places in country including Karachi, stated Pakistan Meteorological (Met) Department.

As per details garnered, Met department has warned Karachiites that mercury would soar to as high as 42 degree Celsius in the metropolis adding that temperature would feel more high than usual as sea breeze may come to a halt.  

A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next three days.

Met Office says that mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most central/southern parts of the country. However, rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, D.G.Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Zhob divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

In the past 24 hours, rain-thundershower occurred at scattered places in KP division, FATA and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Lahore divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.
