(Dunya News) – In a bid to save precious classic vehicles of ‘Madar-e-Millat’ Fatima Ali Jinnah, Vintage and Classic Car Club of Pakistan and Motorheads Pakistan took an initiative of preserving these cars.

Driven into ruins, Fatima Jinnah’s 1955 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible and her 1965 Mercedes Benz 200 went through rigorous restorations from its outer body to its inner mechanics.

Going through various stages of restorations, these vintage cars look all sleek and shiny.

Taking up this Herculean task of restoration, Mohsin Ikram, president of Vintage and Classic Car Club of Pakistan said that the state of the cars was beyond repair. However, with patience and hardwork the club restored these back.

According to Ikram, the condition of the cars was beyond repair where rusts took over not just the exterior of the cars but also damaged the interior.

“It was important to restore these items that once belonged to Fatima Jinnah,” Ikram added.
Ikram wishes to do the same kind of restoration work on cars that belonged to Quaid-e-Azam.

The entire restoration and repairing took two years and Rs. 8.5 million.

Jinnah’s Cadillac along with Mercedes will soon be displayed for public at Quaid-e-Azam Museum in Karachi.
