Muzaffarabad: 8 killed as jeep plunges into deep ravine

At least eight people were killed when a jeep fell into a 3,000 feet deep ravine in Muzaffarabad.

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – A jeep carrying passengers fell into a 3,000 feet deep ravine in Sri Thala area near Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, killing at least eight people, Dunya News reported.

Eye-witnesses informed media that two of the passengers jumped out of the jeep to save their lives. Those who died in the accident included two members of the same family.

Police sources said that the accident occurred due to failure of brakes of the jeep. Rescue teams are facing difficulties in recovering the bodies due to extremely difficult mountain terrain.
