ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court will hear the petition of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Dr Farooq Sattar today (Thursday) in which he has challenged Election Commission of Pakistan s (ECP) decision to remove him as the party convener.

Dr Farooq Sattar filed a petition in the IHC on Wednesday, challenging Election Commission of Pakistan s (ECP) decision to remove him as the party convener.

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday had sacked Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan PIB group chief Farooq Sattar from the post of party convenership.

A five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan announced the verdict on a plea submitted by Farooq Sattar.

The ECP five-member bench had also annuled intra-party elections of PIB wing and dismissed objections of Farooq Sattar challenging the jurisdiction of ECP in the case.
