Believe in power of nation's 'thumbs' not umpire's finger, says Nawaz Sharif
Nawaz said that he is also analyzing the talks being made regarding doctrine.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday has said that he is not a man who takes or waits for signals from anyone.
Informally talking to media outside accountability court, Nawaz said that he believes in the power of nation’s ‘thumbs’ than umpire’s finger. He stated that former president Pervez Musharraf constituted National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to obtain certain results before the elections of 2002.
It is feared that the bureau is being used again in the same way against us, he said.
Nawaz Sharif further demanded to abolish rules made in martial law eras. I have commitments with the Constitution and law of this country, he asserted.
He said that he is also analyzing the talks being made regarding doctrine.
Nawaz said that he should have not indulged in Memogate scandal during the tenure of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as it does not take much time here to frame cases against anybody.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif had once again criticized Supreme Court’s decision to oust him from power and said that I don’t accept disqualification verdict.
Talking to Dunya News correspondent Azhar Javed at his Raiwind resident near Lahore on Monday, Nawaz Sharif said that after coming into power in 2013, his government gave top priority to bring peace and restore law and order situation in Karachi.
Nawaz Sharif, while taking a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, said that those who are following signals from umpires have no future in Pakistan politics.
He said that efforts are being made to collects fake evidences against him.
He said the vote and mandate of masses should be respected and urged all the democratic forces to get united for the cause of democracy in the country. He also urged that media to bring facts before the masses.
