One policeman martyred, three injured in firing incidents
Firing incidents occurred in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Friday.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – One policeman was martyred and three other sustained injuries in two separate incidents of firing at police in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Friday.
According to details, some unidentified persons opened fire at police when they were asked to stop at a police check post in Kotli Sattyan area near Rawalpindi. Three police officials were wounded in the attack.
Rescue teams reached the spot to shift the injured policemen to hospital but Constable Mazhar succumbed to his wounds on way to hospital.
The second incident occurred in Sultana Foundation area of Islamabad where some people were indulged in aerial firing during a marriage ceremony when a police patrol reached their and asked them to refrain from the unlawful activity.
According to Islamabad police, the armed persons in the marriage ceremony opened fire at the police party and wounded Constable Zulfiqar and Constable Zafar.
The injured cops were shifted to Poly Clinic Hospital. Police have also arrested five persons who were involved in firing.
