Newly-elected FATA Senator Mirza Afridi joins PML-N
Mirza Afridi contested the Senate elections as an independent candidate.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Newly-elected Senator Mirza Muhammad Afridi from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) has joined the ruling Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday.
Afridi, who contested the Senate elections as an independent candidate, held meeting with ex-PM Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today. PML-N leaders Raja Zafarul Haq and Engineer Amir Maqam were also present in the meeting.

Afridi is an industrialist by profession. He is the paternal nephew of former Senator and MNA Muhammad Shah Afridi and cousin of Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi team in the Pakistan Super League.
As many as 25 candidates contested for the four Senate seats from Fata. The four victorious candidates from FATA include Hidayatullah, Hilalur Rehman, Shamim Afridi and Mirza Mohammad Afridi.
