Summary Nawaz Sharif addressed a political rally in Sheikhupura today.

SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – Former premier Nawaz Sharif has said on Sunday in an address to a political rally that politicians who aim for ‘umpire’s finger’ would have empty ballot boxes in upcoming General Elections 2018.

During his speech delivered to party s supporters, Nawaz said that those who look out for ‘umpire’s finger’ would fail in the elections this year.

He rhetorically asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, without mentioning the name, and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to tell the people how many development projects did the governments initiate in parts of power.

Nawaz claimed that corruption worth even Rs10, Rs100, Rs500 or Rs1,000 was not proved against him.

He said that the people accorded today a memorable welcome to a disqualified premier. He complained that the people had elected him to serve as the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan for a period of five years but he was ousted before tenure’s completion.

The former premier said that in 1990, he was ousted two years into the tenure and in 1997, after a period of three years.

He claimed credit to elevating Pakistan to the status of an atomic power whilst being in federal power. He was incarcerated and sent into an exile for such ‘crimes’, Nawaz taunted.

Ruling PML-N has secured Rs 56billion worth of historic investment in Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif said. He further said that the nation would avenge the troubles it was subjected to for the past 70 years, in the upcoming elections.
