NAB's concluding witness to record statement in Ishaq Dar corruption case on Wednesday

Ishaq Dar is fighting a legal case in accountability court after top court's July 28, 2017 verdict.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Accountability court is to record statement of prosecution’s last listed witness on Wednesday in assets beyond means case against finance minister Ishaq Dar.

Investigation officer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Nadir Abbas is to appear before the court on February 14 to record his statement after he could not appear in the last hearing owing to illness.

The accountability court has recorded statement of at least 27 witnesses so far including head of Panama Papers Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia.

NAB has contested in the court against Dar that the federal minister accumulated assets worth Rs 83crore beyond his means. The court is to deliver verdict over Dar’s petition against order of seizure of his property on Wednesday.

The court is to deliver verdict in the assets beyond means case in the ongoing month.

Earlier this week, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had rejected nomination papers of Ishaq Dar to contest for Senate elections that are scheduled in March.
