News are sometimes wrong, says Shahid Masood after SBP refutes claim
Dr Shahid Masood did not appear before the JIT earlier in the day today.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Anchorperson and political commentator Dr Shahid Masood has said regarding his claim in Zainab murder case that news are sometimes wrong and are corrected as a development unfolds with the passage of time.
Masood, in his show that aired late Wednesday, alleged that Zainab’s suspected rapist and murderer was a member of an international pornography ring and operated as many as 37 bank accounts for transactions.
While answering questions posed by journalists about his claim, Dr Masood said that he prays for his news to be wrong since seven-year-old Zainab’s case is a horrific incident.
He said that to probe the case is not his job.
Statement of the anchorperson has come in after State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) refuted the claim by issuing a list that shows that no bank account is operated by the suspect.

Skipping JIT appearance
Earlier today, Masood skipped session of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the rape and murder case that was reported earlier this month in Kasur.
The anchor was summoned by the probe team along with all the evidence he has regarding arrested suspect Imran Ali.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly, demanding to stone child rapists to death.
Masood had presented to Chief Justice (CJ) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday a list of accomplices in the crime after he was ordered by the top court.
The anchorperson also presented a list of 40 bank accounts allegedly held by accused Imran Ali.
Imran given in police custody
Police presented the suspect before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday and the judge had remanded him in police custody on a 14-day physical remand.
He was presented before the court following his arrest that came after his DNA sample matched with that collected off the seven-year-old minor’s body.
The government asserted that 1,150 DNA samples were ran tests on to identify the alleged culprit.
