(Web Desk) – Rage over the brutal murder of a minor in Kasur has taken over the entire country as condemnation and demands for speedy justice continue to pour in.

The horrifying rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl stirred violent protests in Kasur with demands for immediate justice being made from all segments of the society.

The child was kidnapped a week ago from Road Kot when her parents left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. According to Dunya News, the girl was strangled to death after being raped. Police recovered her body from a garbage dump near Zaki Ada.

Her funeral prayer was led by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Many politicians, activists condemned the death of the young girl and urged to bring the culprits to justice in tweets that flooded Twitter under the hashtag  justice for Zainab .

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif also visited the house of the seven-year-old minor and assured the aggrieved of justice. The spokesman for Punjab government, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and top police officials also accompanied the CM during the visit.

Dunya News reported that as many as 12 children have been murdered following rape in Kasur over the past one year.
