(Dunya News) – Winters without a warm bed and a shelter from the cold weather is what it is like on the streets of Rawalpindi where labourers sleep out in the open, on the roadsides.
Having searched for work during the day, the nights of these labourers are spent on pavements, benches or on the hard cold concrete without warm beds or a roof over their heads. At night, they find shelter on the streets, covered in thin shawls shivering in cold tossing and turning until the dawn.

"In this thin chador I sleep anywhere I can find, near verandas, or on the pavements of the road," said a labourer speaking to Dunya News.
Another said, “I cannot afford anything else. The money I earn is not enough for rent, I just spend money on food and sleep on the streets.”
These poverty stricken hard working labourers survive the daily wages. With close to no money these workers cannot even afford to rent a place, and most of the times, not even food to make through the harsh frosty nights - something the privileged would hardly ever understand.
