Summary Ghauri said that he is neither joining any other party nor has ever remained a part of MQM-Pakistan
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Four Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-London) leaders including Babar Ghauri, Shamim Siddiqui, Amber Khan and Dr Nadeem Khan have resigned from the party on Sunday.
Former federal ministers Babar Ghauri and Shamim Siddiqui, currently based in US, announced their resignation from the party’s primary membership separately. They moved abroad a few years back and were politically inactive.
Ghauri told that he is neither joining any other political party nor has ever remained a part of MQM-Pakistan. He said that he was a member of MQM-London and is now tendering his resignation.
After August 22, Babar Ghauri fell into a dispute with his party after raising the slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ on social media. Moreover, he also apologized for violating party discipline later.
Ghauri has said that he remained silent after August 22 incident and waited for the matters to cool down however; he met with continuous non-serious attitude from the MQM-London leadership.
Ghauri has remained as the federal minister for ports and shipping, as well as a lawmaker in the provincial and national assemblies, and the Senate. He is accused of illegal deployments in Karachi port trust during his tenure as the minister.
