ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A calling attention Notice was submitted in Senate on Tuesday to highlight the matter of a girl who was paraded naked in a village of Dera Ismail Khan.

Senator Sherry Rehman submitted the Calling Attention Notice in Senate to discuss the horrific incident of a 16 year old girl, who was paraded naked for an hour in Dera Ismail Khan.

Few days ago, a girl was paraded naked in Dera Ismail Khan for one hour by outlaws.

The girl was ‘punished’ for her brother’s behaviour. Allegedly, around three years ago, her brother, identified as Sajjad, got involved in a relationship with a girl from the village.

A panchayat (village council) gathered and had fined Sajjad’s family Rs2,50,000 to resolve the matter. The tehsil nazim was also a part of the decision making process.

On the other hand, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Engineer Amir Muqam on Tuesday visited Garahmatt and met with the affected girl and her family.

On this occasion, he conveyed the messages of sympathy and solidarity sent by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and presented a cheque of rupees 2,00,000 to the family of disgraced girl.

Amir Muqam also assured the family of complete legal assistance on behalf of the federal government.

Criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, he said PTI always talked about delivering justice to people but where was the justice in this case adding that till date none of the accused have been arrested by the police.

Ameer Muqam maintained that voice against this shameful act would be raised at the forum of National Assembly saying the provincial government should also had brought resolution in provincial assembly against this incident.
