ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The seventh ministerial level meeting of Joint Cooperation Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has begun in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal is chairing the meeting.

The minister said apart from infrastructure and energy, projects relating to social, education and health sectors are also being made part of the CPEC. He said most of the energy projects under CPEC are successfully moving towards culmination.

Ahsan Iqbal expressed the confidence that industrial cooperation under CPEC would lead towards transfer of technology, expertise and knowledge to Pakistan for promoting knowledge-based economy. He pointed out that early harvest projects under CPEC have entered into a crucial phase of implementation.

He said soon Pakistan and China would start exchange of delegations of businessmen and traders.

Referring to projects of CPEC in Gwadar, he said these would help transform the lot of the area and local people.

The Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission of China is leading his country s delegation at the meeting.

 Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur Rehman, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider, Punjab minister for Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran also attended the meeting.
