Summary Chairman directed investigation teams to not hinder the companies' work during investigation
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal has ordered investigation into the irregularities in 56 Punjab companies pertaining to the Punjab Companies Scam.
However, the chairman directed the investigation teams to not hinder the companies from their regular work during the investigation or until credible evidence and witnesses are gathered in the investigation.
NAB spokesperson said that National Accountability Bureau’s chairman has taken notice of the Punjab companies’ misuse of resources, violation of established rules and unlawful recruitment based on personal relations and biases.
The spokesperson further informed that NAB also received public complaints regarding public limited companies’ failures to complete projects on time, faulty performance and reluctance for audit.
According to the bureau’s spokesman, NAB will also review companies’ trade deals, tender irregularities, and companies alleged violations of PEPRA laws.
