Oil tankers association has called off the strike on Monday

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has hiked prices of petroleum products on Friday after conceding to demands of oil tankers association.



The regulatory body has issued a notification of hike in fares of oil tankers prompting the association to reverse the strike call issued for Monday.

Earlier the association had warned the government of protests and strike starting from Monday in case the owners were not allowed to hike fares. It should be mentioned here that protests by oil tankers association have resultedin severe shortage of petrol across Pakistan in the past.

Lahore among other major cities have bore the brunt of such strikes in the past with commuters stranded without petrol on roads.
