ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan called the passage of the bill, titled Election reforms Bill 2017, a "black day for democracy".

He termed the move as a mockery of the Constitution.

Despite supreme court disqualifying Nawaz Sharif from holding any public position, he managed to regain his party’s top post after passage of the Election Bill 2017 in the National Assembly on Monday. The amendment specifically allows politicians disqualified from holding public office to head a political party.
