Summary Protesters used stones to defend themselves, but Karachi police attacked them with batons

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi Police on Monday used force to disperse protesters from reserve police of, reported Dunya News. The ex-officers from reserved police of Sindh were protesting against their dismissal from service.

These police officers belonged to Larkana, Dadu, Sukkur and other districts of Sindh. When one ex-police officer tried to light himself up, Karachi police attacked the protesters and used batons. This resulted in injuring several protesters.

Many protesters were arrested and sent to an unknown location. Protesters said that even after consistent pleas, provincial government has not paid heed. “Reserve Police also gave sacrifices, in Razaqabad blast, 16 of our officers were killed,” the protesters said.

This was the secound occasion on Monday that Karachi Police used force against protesters. Earlier, Karachi Police had used water cannons and batons to disperse teachers who were protesting for similar cause. Many teachers got injured while others were arrested.
