ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said Tuesday no government or opposition member made contact with him to review and amend Articles 62 and 63, calling Nawaz Sharif the true leader and prime minister in his heart.
The ex-PM Nawaz Sharif chaired a consultation meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders today. Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Hamza Shehbaz, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif along with senior party leadership and ministers were present in the meeting, in which matters regarding the party’s administration and ongoing political situation came under discussion.
After the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq said while media talk that every part of the country is ready to welcome Nawaz Sharif, and that wherever people will call unto their leader in order to affirm their support, Nawaz Sharif will respond to their call and visit them. He further said that the purpose of the party meeting was to devise the method to conduct an approach regarding constitutional amendment and future strategy in order to strengthen the parliament and democracy, which will not be in contradiction or conflict with other institutions.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq referred to Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister during his entire interaction with the media. Upon query, he elaborated that he always refers to Nawaz Sharif in such manner. The speaker said that path chosen will be the one which is epitome of struggle for truth. He said that the ex-premier did not commit contempt of court during the addresses in home-coming rally .
