Police Shuhada Day observed across the country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Police Shuhada Day was observed with great reverence across the country on Friday to acknowledge the sacrifices of police martyrs.

Ceremonies were conducted in accordance with the day in different cities whereas special prayers and Quran khwani for the martyrs was held in numerous mosques.



A function was held in Qila Gujjar Singh police lines in Lahore. IG Arif Nawaz and other officers visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada and laid floral wreaths. Quran khwani was also held for the martyrs.



In Karachi, a great tribute was paid to martyred traffic head constable Muhammad Khan who was shot dead at Abul Hasan Ispahani Road while regulating traffic. Sindh Inspector General AD Khawaja articulated that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten.



Police and FC contingents in Peshawar presented salute and laid floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs.



A rally was held in Hyderabad to pay homage to the police martyrs. Similar ceremonies were also arranged in Multan, Faisalabad and other cities.



In his message on Police Shuhada Day, the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Jawed Bajwa offered salute to police martyrs and their brave families. He said that the sacrifices of security forces in war on terror will not go in vain.

On the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation is proud of police martyrs who sacrificed their lives to eliminate terrorism and crimes and protected lives of people.
