Summary Kaira addressed a press conference in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has criticised the federal government on Saturday by saying that there is no threat to the democracy if Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif steps down.

Kaira addressed a press conference in Islamabad and challenged the federally ruling party to prove the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report false.

He advised the premier to take note of the statements that his peers gave before the team.

The former minister claimed that the first family would not be able to secure its dignity if video recordings of the JIT hearings are made public.

Kaira said that the premier has admitted a conspiracy against him but is reluctant to disclose the people behind it.

The former information minister said that all the opposition parties are on the same page over the JIT report and he fails to see any conspiracy against the premier.

He also said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had named ‘agencies’ among all the role-players of conspiracies against the political party when it had to.

He asserted that Saeed Ahmed had confessed about bogus accounts and illegal transactions worth billions of Rupees was traced.

He demanded off the premier to either identify those hatching the conspiracy or confess his crimes.
