ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)- Joint opposition on Friday has failed to develop consensus over Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation in the aftermath of joint investigation committee’s (JIT) report which has stirred a political upheaval.

Pakistan Peoples Party s (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah presided over the joint sitting of opposition’s parliamentary leaders in Islamabad.

As per details available, Awami National Party (ANP) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWM) have expressed reservations over seeking resignation from Nawaz Sharif before apex court’s verdict in Panama Leaks Case.

While talking to media after joint sitting, Khurshid Shah apprised Nawaz of his promises to relinquish if proven guilty. Dismissing concerns about derailment of system, Shah said opposition wanted continuation of democracy.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi also took a dig at Nawaz Sharif and claimed that voices were being raised inside PML-N against Nawaz Sharif’s behaviour.
