SC to hear contempt of court case against Nehal Hashmi on June 5

Summary Justice Ijaz Afzal is to preside over a three-member bench at 01:00pm tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) is to hear contempt of court case against former senator Nehal Hashmi on Monday.

The former senator is to file his reply over show-cause notice served to him by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) last week over an objectionable speech delivered to a gathering in the federal capital during which he threatened the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the top court judges over Panama Leaks probe.

Justice Ijaz Afzal is to preside over a three-member bench at 01:00pm tomorrow.

Earlier, Attorney General of Pakistan had filed content of the anti-judiciary speech in the apex court as prosecutor.

Hashmi was sought a resignation by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif last week after he revoked his membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
