ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s younger son Hassan Nawaz has appeared before Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to investigate the Panama Leaks case, for the first time today (Friday).
Arriving at the Federal Judicial Academy, premier’s son waved his hand to the people present outside the building.
Sources told that Hassan Nawaz will record his statement before the inquiry team while he has also brought relevant documents to prove his innocence.
The latest development come three days after Nehal Hashmi, a senator from the ruling party, apparently threatened judges for seeking details of bank accounts from Sharif s family.
Nawaz Sharif sacked Hashmi, but tension between his government and judiciary persist.
On the other hand, Hussain Nawaz had denied all the accusations against him, saying that the cases today are the same registered in Musharraf’s era and that they have the same assets which they had before.
While talking to the media on Tuesday before departing from the academy, Hussain Nawaz claimed that no unlawful activity would be proved against his father or the family.
Hussain Nawaz will reappear before JIT on Saturday for fourth hearing.
Nawaz Sharif has been under pressure to resign since reports based on documents leaked from a Panama-based law firm indicated his sons owned offshore companies.
