Govt removes Rao Tehsin from post of Principle Information Officer in Dawn Leaks probe

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – According to sources, Rao Tehsin has been removed from the position of Principle Information Officer (PIO) in Press Information Department (PID) which comes under the Ministry of Interior.

He was been asked to report at Establishment Division. Earlier, Tariq Fatemi was removed from the post of Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs as a result of implementing the inquiry committee’s recommendations on the issue of Dawn leaks.

Action was proceeded against Rao Tehsin under the E&D Rules 1973 under the charges based on findings of the instant Dawn Leaks report by investigation committee.

Earlier, the notification was deemed  incomplete  by Pakistan Army, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Army rejected the notification and said that it was not not in line with recommendations by the Inquiry Board. 

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar responded to the rejection by saying that such tweets were  poisonous  for democracy.
