SANGHAR (Dunya News) - Polling has begun for the PS-81 contituency of Sindh assembly, district Sanghar on Thursday and will continue till 5pm.

The seat was left vacant after Jam Madad Ali left Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and joined Pakistan Peoples Party. He also resigned from the provincial assembly.

PPP has nominated Jam Madad Ali whereas PML-F has appointed Jam Nafees Ali for the election contest. Both the candidates are cousins. A total of 16 candidates are taking part in the elections but the real contest is between PPP and PML-F.

The total number of voters in the constituency is 1,39,000 which include 76,461 males and 62, 540 females for which 122 polling stations have been formed along with 122 presiding officers and 379 assistant presiding officers.

At least 1800 policemen and 700 Rangers personnel have been deployed in the area. In terms of security, the constituency has been divided into five circles, 12 sectors and 24 sub-sectors.
