Summary
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against possible repatriation of US national Raymond Davis, Dunya News reported on Monday. Petitioner Barrister Zafar Ullah stated that the US is exerting pressure on the central and provincial governments while the investigation officials are being offered US visas and visit. The petitioner maintained that the accused was responsible for the murder of Pakistani nationals. He, therefore, should not be given any kind of immunity, the petitioner added. He demanded of the court to order the government to prosecute the US national as per the laws of the land. The US national Raymond Davis shot dead two locals in Lahore on January 27. He was later charged with dual murder and sent to 6-days physical remand. Meanwhile, the US embassy in Islamabad demanded the immediate release of Davis.
