KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Police have remained silent spectators as illegal drugs are being traded freely in the city. Even the kids and women are fast getting addicted to the drugs but police have remained completely neutral, reported Dunya News.

According to a report, Pakistan’s largest city Karachi has become a hub of illegal drugs. People are trading these drugs freely in Lyari area and it is not even being done in hiding, but openly, on stalls, in the premises of Pak Colony police station.

The business is being run by the brothers-in-law of the slain Rahman Baloch, Sajid and Majid. A large share is also kept for the police in the profit obtained from this business and that is the reason behind police’s silence.

Women are also victims of these drugs. The apparently open space where this business is being conducted is actually quite secure. 32 armed men provide security to this area in just six streets. Those getting inside these streets are not allowed to use mobile phones.

Crystal ice, heroin, weed and liquor are all available here freely. According to one estimate, just one day’s earning of these drug-sellers is around four million rupees. Rangers have done repeated operations here but the influential mafia takes positions within hours and the business goes on as usual.
