Firefighters are busy in cooling process.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Third-degree fire that erupted in Landhi Industrial area on Friday has been tamed after efforts of 22 hours.

According to details, firefighters and fire tenders are busy in cooling process after extinguishing fire. Meanwhile, garment factory has been completely wrecked whereas 22-hour efforts have exposed capabilities of fire department.

Factory workers blamed that staff of fire department reached late at blaze site. While contradicting with the stance of workers, firefighters claimed they reached at earliest possible moment to tame fire and rescue those trapped inside.

 



Earlier, chief fire officer Mohammad Tehseen had declared fire and had asked for the help of PT and civil aviation authorities in order to bring the situation into control.



He has revealed that the building has developed cracks due to continuous fire resulting in collapse of walls. He said that the blaze has consumed clothes and heavy machinery worth millions.
