Baldia Town tragedy: Police declare 10 including Zubair Chariya innocent
Police declared 90% of the suspects in the tragedy innocent already, before the judicial verdict
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Police on Wednesday declared ten including Zubair Chariya as innocent in Baldia Town tragedy. 90% of the suspects have already been declared innocent by police, before the court decision, reported Dunya News.
The eve of September 11, 2012 proved disastrous for Ali enterprises of Baldia Town. 259 people had burned in fire that night in the factory. Thousands were left helpless by the terrible incident. Police registered the case against the factory owners and then declared it an accident.
After the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed under Rizwan Qureshi, things changed dramatically. The owners turned into witnesses from suspects but police also declared majority of the suspects as innocent.
Now ten including Zubair Chariya, the prime suspect, have been declared innocent. The report submitted before the court seems to be suggesting that only Rehman aka Bhola and Hammad Siddiqui were involved and while the factory had been set on fire by Bhola, he didn’t receive any assistance from anyone.
